January 2019: Peninsula Gardens Retirement Village Bayview
Hello, my name is Hannah Pikkat. I’m a young passionate entertainer and horse enthusiast and I’d like to introduce you to ‘Adorable Therapy Horses’ offering entertainment for the aged.
The stars of the show are Crunch and Lippy, our two miniature horses. Crunch is a 9-year-old gelding standing at 31” high and Lippy is an 8-year-old mare standing at 30” high. They are gentle little creatures and having been hand raised, love people and performing tricks. Great for the souland young at heart!
You may have seen us a while ago on Channel 7 Sunrise, being interviewed in promoting the Melbourne Cup or Disney Channel program, Hanging With. Feeling like little celebrities, having accomplished over 150 children’s parties to date, we are now naturally progressing by turning our attention to entertaining the elderly.
The presence of our horses can positively contribute to a person’s overall wellbeing and happiness. The small scale and intimate nature of our visits are designed to be heart-warming and never fault to delight the residents. With the audience at ease it can often ignite happy childhood memories, which they take pleasure in sharing.
Our visits are tailored to meet the needs of the audience. From walk around/meet and greet for high care, to a trick performance show for low care/independent living.
Such small horses can easily enter tiny spaces that larger animals can’t, like entering lifts!
To prevent damage from their hooves they wear rubber boots. They can also both wears a poo bag to prevent any accidents.
Cleanliness is very important to us and the little ones are kept well washed and groomed. All residents are also offered hand sanitiser to wash hands during the visit.
Our one hour show includes:
- One on one interaction with each resident, satisfying the need to watch, hear and touch these beautiful animals,
- The horses demonstrate their unique tricks from smile, yes/no, rear, lie down, Spanish walk to mention a few.
- I share some interesting facts about owning miniature horses, funny stories and the quirky about having them as pets.
- Finishing with residence feeding carrot/apple treats always puts a smile on their faces.
Safety comes first:
Animals can of course be unpredictable but being so small these miniature horses are easily controlled, both having their handlers with them at all times. Safety comes first with every interaction and so every precaution has been made to ensure this.
What does it cost?:
We can visit your facility:
An hour visit is $400, which includes: 2 handlers, 2 horses, transport costs, insurance and treats for the residents to feed the horses.
Come to us:
Come to our lifestyle property in Bayview (On the Northern Beaches of Sydney) for a personalised 1 hour interactive performance. We have a large covered balcony area comfortably facilitating up to 20 residents. Bring your morning tea and we supply hot water, cups and palettes (as we would rather wash and reuse - saving the planet :) $200 which includes: 2 horses, and treats for the residents to feed the horses.

We are passionate about giving back so for every show we do, 10% of our fee is donated to ‘Save a Horse Australia’, a wonderful not-for-profit charity, dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating sick and injured horses.

To whom it may concern,
I would recommend The adorable pony show to any age care home, Crunch and lippy are two of the most loving , clean and very well behaved horses, not to mention how cute they are.
The show was loved by our residents and put a smile on their faces, they couldn’t stop talking about it.
Hannah and Bella who are the two horse handlers were on time and the talk they do about Crunch and Lippy is very interesting.
I certainly think this show is a must for all age care providers.
Kind Regards
Lee Blake
